Operation Clarion is a very stylish and atmospheric space adventure in which you play a lone astronaut sent on a rescue mission to find three lost pilots on a strange foreign planet.

The movement of your character is controlled with the WASD keys and the spacebar – including aiming the direction your character walks in, while the mouse is solely used to control the direction of your head, which can look around within the confines of your space suit.  This may seem like a small feature, but it does wonders to immerse yourself in the experience, making you feel like a man in a spacesuit, rather than a spacesuit avatar.

The audio and visual design throughout Operation Clarion’s 10 minute play time are superb as you explore the barren alien landscape.  The fact that the only noise on this beautiful low poly planet comes from you (your footsteps and breathing) only cements the feeling of loneliness and vulnerability as you search for your crewmates in this impressive outer space adventure, packed with style and atmosphere.

The Nullpoint is a cool blend of real time strategy, survival horror, roguelike and Diablo-esque dungeon crawling set across procedurally generated levels in which you must guide your crew members to safety after being stranded in a mysterious alien structure.

You control up to five crew using an intuitive control scheme similar to those found in an RTS.  You’ll have to use caution when exploring the spacecraft, there are no reloads - if all your survivors die, you’ll restart from the beginning in a new procedurally generated ship interior.  Much like X-Com, this makes every battle a tense affair - one silly mistake can cost you a crew member, or even worse, the whole team.  The Nullpoint is real-time action though, not turn based, so you’ll have to think fast as swarms of aliens charge at you!

Pre-Alpha Sign Ups have re-opened for EVE: Valkyrie – a fantastic looking first person online multiplayer space dog fighting built specifically for VR hardware, including Oculus Rift and Sony’s Playstation VR.

It’s a beautiful looking 360-degree action combat game based in the EVE universe that we first featured during the first sign up phase in March.  It’s an enticing prospect, with epic EVE online-style battles, all viewed from the cockpit of your own personal fighter.  Pre-Alpha sign-up have now re-opened, you’ll need an Oculus Rift to play, but EVE: Valkyrie is certainly the game worth buying one for!

The Astronaut is a short 10 minute experience that sees you playing an astronaut called Major Tom, who is told by Ground Control that his spaceship is doomed and he will perish in 10 minutes.

After your ship suffers catastrophic damage, you end up sitting in a tin can, far above the world and there’s noting you can do, but tell your wife you love her very much and make peace with your imminent demise.  In essence it’s a short space-faring experience in which you float around your spacecraft in zero gravity.  There’s noting to interact with other that floating debris that you can nudge out the way, it’s more just about enjoying the narrative and Space Oddity references.

Take your protein pills and strap in for your final voyage.  Your circuit’s dead, can you hear me, Major Tom?
