Clown House - a scary first person horror in which you must contend with the most evil and freakishly scary of all gods creatures - the clown!

Your goal is simple - grab the key and escape the house.  But the key is hidden in a random position each time and one of the clowns may or may not kill you.  The clown’s behaviour is random each time, a lot of the time they’re content just to leave you alone, but occasionally they’ll come for you.  When this happens, you’d better run - these clowns prefer to spread death than joy.  You do have access to a gun, with a single bullet in it, but we’d really recommend abstaining from using it, as it makes the game far too easy if you can kill your pursuer (something we’d love to see changed in future releases.)

It’s a short and simple game that merits multiple playthoughs, as the randomness of the clown’s behaviour allows for plenty of jump scares.  Can you escape the Clown House?

Whiskers is a surprisingly dark and disturbing point and click horror game, with a tense atmosphere and real jump scares as you solve puzzles and attempt to escape capture by Mr. Whiskers - a mentally disturbed lunatic with a penchant for fluffy animals.

With a few exceptions (Dark Seed, Gabriet Knight, Tormentium), point and click adventures are usually humorous and family friendly romps.  Not so with Whiskers, although it’s charming cartoony visual style may suggest otherwise, this is well and truly a horror game, complete with a dread-filled atmosphere, disturbing imagery, blood, guts, brain matter and the occasional jump scare.

As well as being surprisingly terrifying, Whiskers is also surprisingly well made, featuring some deviously clever puzzle design and beautiful (and a little bloodstained) hand drawn artwork.  As you explore more and more of the dark recesses of Whiskers, it continually impresses with it’s innovative gameplay.

A tense and terrifying adventure that breathes a breath of life into the point & click genre - then stabs it to death with a rusty knife!

Antumbra is a super tough and very creepy dungeon crawling adventure populated by a wide variety of SCP-style monsters that will tear you limb from limb.

Taking a text adventure/visual novel approach to dungeon crawling, you are presented with a variety of options at each crossroads and encounter.  Some of these options are are listed in a numbered list on screen, while others are hidden away within the picture of the scene.  One wrong turn can mean a quick and gruesome death, so you’ll have to use your wits (and a little luck) to survive the hazards of Antumbra.

Much like Dark Souls, you’ll die a lot, but each time you’ll learn from your mistakes. There are many, many creatures roaming the world of Antumbra, a few are harmless, but most will rip your throat out in a heart beat.  Taking inspiration from Darkseed, Silent Hill, Hellraiser, Shivers, Event Horizon and HP Lovecraft, Antumbra weaves a very dark and disturbing tale, with a twisted sense of humour and nasty surprises around every corner.

Dark, deadly and dangerously addictive, a wonderfully twisted tale that will chew you up and spit you out.

GRIDBERD is a very freaky first person survival horror with near photo-realistic CryEngine-powered visuals and plenty of terrifying scares.

Starting off chained to a chair, about to undergo a Hostel-esque bit of torture in the hands of an axe wielding maniac, you’re granted a temporary reprieve from your doom and use it as a chance to escape.  You find that you’re in the abandoned mansion of the Jonson family, and Kary Jonson is the axe wielding psychopath that’s rather set on cleaving your skull in two.

There are hints of influences from Amnesia, Saw, Hostel and P.T. as you take in the beautifully rendered decor of the mansion.  There’s a constant sense of dread as you explore the dank, dark areas of the mysterious mansion, with the threat of a premature death hiding behind every corner.  You will die in GRIDBERD, sometimes out of the blue, but often it’s a necessity as it will trigger other events.

The Beta Demo offers up a sizable chunk of the game, and even in these early stages of production it’s a fantastic looking and highly polished experience that easily matches P.T.s near photo-realistic visuals.  A finely crafted first person horror that really gets under your skin.

Puppet Master: The Game is an awesome new horror game based on the cult movies of the 80’s and 90’s, featuring asymmetric multiplayer that pits three diminutive (but deadly) puppets against one human.

We first featured the interactive trailer back in September in which you control Blade as he searches for the rest of his little friends, but now a fully functioning prototype with 3 v 1 multiplayer gameplay has been released, and it’s just as good as we hoped.  The deliberately Low Fi graphical style may not be photorealistic, but it fits perfectly with it’s video nasty source material, and the gameplay is superb.

Players can choose between four of the Master’s creations - Blade, Tunneler, Torch and Jester, pitting them against one large, well armed detective as he investigates The Bodega Bay Inn and Toulon’s workshop.  The puppets are (unsurprisingly) the most fun to play as, each with their own attacks, able to scuttle about at high speeds, hide their diminutive forms easily and access hidden routes (such as air vents).  That being said, it’s still fun and certainly at it’s most scary when playing as the human, with plenty of scares as Blade and friends jump out from their hiding places.

Puppet Master: The Game is still very early in development, with one game mode, one map and a handful of characters available at the moment, but the devs plan to add a whole lot more, and it already has the foundations of a fantastic game.  A perfect tribute to the classic movies and also a great game in it’s own right.  Asymmetric multiplayer at it’s best - highly recommended first person puppeteering.

Continuous is a delightfully sinister first person horror game inspired by the infinite looping hallways of Silent Hill’s PT.

Much like PT, as you traverse the looping corridors of Continuous, small differences in lighting and audio can create a tense, dread-filled atmosphere, ripe for terrifying jump scares.  Obviously Continuous doesn’t have the near photo-realistic production quality of PT, but it is still a very good looking game, with plenty of freaky moments.  Forget the basement or under the bed, corridors are now the scariest part of a house!

Hotel Remorse is a terrifying first person horror with PT-esque creepy corridors, a dread filled atmosphere and blood curdling jump scares.

You play a husband and father who has lost his mind after losing his wife during childbirth.  Throughout it’s short 10 minute playtime, you’ll discover the hotel isn’t all that it seems, and there’s a good reason why you’re checked in.

As you explore, Hotel Remorse throws lots of visual trickery and genuine scares at you, with excellent audio and visual design that really keeps you immersed in this horrific nightmare.

Turn the lights down and the volume up, then be ready to jump out your skin.  Highly recommended horrific fun.  You can check in any time you like, but you may never leave!
