Black Gold Online is a very pretty new Steam-punk/Fantasy MMORPG with fast paced gameplay, massive enemies, huge battles and Mechs.

It seems like a lot of fun, but don’t just take our word for it, check out what Canadian punk-pop pixie Avril Lavigne has to say about it in this rather odd promo video for the Asian release. To be honest, we don’t have a clue what “Desired Black Gold, the double temptation” means, we’re guessing it means “We’ve paid you a s**t load of money and couldn’t afford a decent translator, just read the F***ing script Avril”.

Anyway, the game genuinely does looks like a lot of fun, with plenty of customisation options, Dwarfs, Giants, Vampires, large scale battles, Mechs and lots of vehicles, all wrapped up in a beautiful steam-punk/fantasy setting. As Avril says “That’s a new world we are waiting for!”

Rodina is a wonderfully ambitious space exploration RPG inspired by Freelancer, Star Fox, and the Elder Scrolls.

Like the upcoming ’No Mans Sky’, it features large, procedurally generated planets that you can seamlessly land on and explore, going from the depths of space to exploring the planet with no load times whatsoever. You can also wander around your ship in first person, or or upgrade and customise it from an overhead, FTL style view-point.

While the controls could do with a little work (there currently seems to be a slight delay between inputs), exploring the universe is great fun, especially as everything is procedurally generated, you’re never too sure what you’re going to get, whether it’s a hostile ship, or some wonderful loot.

Still early in development, Rodina is already technically impressive, with a massive universe to seamlessly explore, you really can go where no man has gone before.

Legend Of Silkroad is a great looking new MMO set in ancient Asia that sees 3 kingdoms fighting to hold supremacy of silkroad. The game features a great variety of OTT special moves, fun combat, guilds, some real historical quests, PvP and some very pretty graphics and animations. Players will also battle to take control of the Legendary Forbidden Skill, an extremely powerful weapon which allows the user to summon Devils from Hell and death angels from heaven.

Ran out of games to play on your PS4 already? Fear not, you can take part in the Final Fantasy XIV: A Real Reborn Beta! The beta starts this weekend, and it’s looking rather gorgeous.

FFXIV had a rocky start when it released originally, but Square Enix have really worked on the game since then, and have created something that really deserves the Final Fantasy moniker. The PS4 Beta has mouse & keyboard support, streaming support, PS Vita Remote play and looks stunning thanks to the upgraded, next gen graphics.

NeonXSZ is a great new space combat game, inspired by Descent and Quake, with RPG elements such as loot, levelling and upgrades. Gameplay is fast paced and fun, with ships remarkably agile and handling similarly to Descent, while combat feels more like Quake. You start off with fairly weak fire-power, but as you upgrade your ship, you’ll become a force to be reckoned with.

The customisation and upgrade system in NeonXSZ is particularly impressive, with dozens of ships to choose from and over 700 Upgrades available through loot drops and trading, you’ll be able to make your ship truly unique.

NeonXSZ is an excellent slice of space combat, that takes the Descent formula and adds so much more. It also offers a massive amount of re-playability thanks to the world, upgrades and enemy AI, all being completely procedurally generated.

The game is currently on Steam Greenlight, and only needs another 2000 votes to get Greenlit. There will also be a big update to the game soon, which will add lots of new environments and challenge arenas that you can gain control of once you beat challenging, scripted battles.

Lugdunon is a charming retro 2d multiplayer RPG/sandbox game that is reminiscent of the 16 bit console era that allows players to make the game their own.

The game features PvE and PvP combat, crafting, trading, character leveling and customisation options. The most impressive feature however, is the ability of designated players to become ‘Game Masters’. This allows players to create new crafting recipies, add and edit NPCs and mould the landscape as they see fit. It’s a great feature, allowing players to effectively make and run their own world and craft their own adventure within the game.

Lugdunon is currently in Open Alpha, with Beta testing starting soon.

Blue Saga is a new pirate themed MMORPG with gorgeous retro 2D graphics that’s inspired by Dark Souls, Pokemon and the One Piece anime. It’s a great game, with a huge world to explore, by land or by sea, some interesting characters, and a wide variety of monsters to battle in real-time.

It’s a great game with lots of character, it’s a bit like the legend of Zelda, but you can play it online with friends and features some mighty fine pixel-art.

Shattered Planet is a great looking survival-exploration RPG for tablet and PC that’s set for release next month.

It’s a turn-based RPG with randomly generated levels and lots of powerful items to find. Shattered Planet has a great isometric art style, similar to Bastion, and it’s influenced by some great recent Roguelikes, such as Rogue Legacy and FTL as well as classics like Rogue and Nethack. It’s a pretty challenging game, with thoughtful and strategic gameplay, that’s almost like Chess, in that you have to plan several moves in advance for you to stand a chance of winning.

In-Vivo puts you in the shoes of an alien abductee, trying to escape the spaceship of your captors. Unfortunatley, due to the tranquilisers they have you on, you only have 30 seconds to make your escape, before passing out and being taken to your cell.

Things are made slightly easier by the ’dream state’ you enter when you pass out, allowing you to freely roam around the parts of the ship you visited when you were awake. Although unable to fully interact with anything, it gives you the opportunity to plan your escape. What makes the game even more interesting is that there is no single solution to any problem, with various options available to you to help you escape captivity.

LEGO Legends of CHIMA Online is a free online multi-player game where players can build and customize their character and Outpost in the world of CHIMA, explore massive environments like the Forest of the Falling Leaves, take on missions to help Laval and his friends, uncover hidden secrets and treasures, battle enemies, earn rewards, and use LEGO bricks to build tools, gadgets, and more.

Previously only available in North America, the Beta is now available worldwide. Gameplay is similar to other LEGO games (Star Wars, LOTR, etc.), but with RPG elements such as character customisation, XP and upgrades, as well as the online multi-player elements.
