Space Farmers is a fun and interesting action/puzzle game with some inventive ideas and great multiplayer co-op play.

You and a friend take control of two farmers who have to fight their way through a spaceship full of angry robots, gadgets and guns.

Each game of Space Farmers lasts around 20 mins, with you and your co-op partner in a dash to escape the alien ship.  However each play-through should be different as there are lots of different variations of the sectors of the ship, all requiring a combination of skill and brain power.  This can range from rescuing your friend from a gas filled room to a mad dash from a giant spiky roller.

Space Farmers is a fun arcadey action puzzle game that offers great replayability value due to it’s clever level design, you’ll never play the same game twice!

Taijou is a fast paced, bullet hell platform game, that plays like Super Meat Boy with guns, lots and lots of guns.

It’s fast paced, frantic arcade fun that rewards skill and punishes slow reflexes.  Levels are varied, all with their own satisfying retro style, with plenty of different enemies just waiting dispatch you.

Your character is pleasingly quick and agile, with a nice selection of weapons and special moves.  You may still be seriously out gunned but you can out-manouver the biggest of baddies if your reflexes are quick enough.

Painters Guild (as seen in Indie Statik) is a management game where you take control of a small guild, commissioning paintings and teaching your student (a young Leonardo Da Vinci), so he can become the great artist we know him as.

It’s a fun, quirky game that’s reminiscent of some of the Kairosoft sim games (Game Dev Story, Hot Springs Story, etc).  The pixel art style fits really well with the game too, especially the miniature pixelated versions of some great works of art, like the Last Supper in the pic above.

Painters Guild is still in Alpha, so some features are still missing, but it’s still great fun to play.  Features that are planned to be added sound interesting too, and should add a nice bit of depth to the proceedings.  These include the ability to hire new artists (procedurally generated and famous ones from history), different art styles, crafting, guild customisation and (gay or straight) relationships and romances.

StarMade is an impressive Minecraft inspired 3D sandbox space shooter that allows you to build and pilot gigantic spaceships and explore the galaxy.

The customisation and ship building aspects of the game are truly impressive, allowing you to build ships and massive space stations using minecraft style building techniques.  You’ll then be able to kit out your ship with customised weaponry, shields, salvage and stealth technology.  This can all be done in multiplayer too, allowing you to share control and design your ship together.

You can then explore the galaxy and fight enemy ships, using your ships arsenal of missiles, lasers and explosives, or you can board them and take them out from the inside.

Starmade is a wonderful sandbox game that could be described as ‘Minecraft in Space’, but really, it’s much more than that.  It’s an great game in it’s own right.

Burrito Galaxy (or Burrito Galaxy 64: Mega-Tortilla Bean Saga 30X6 – Planetoid SAL-5A XIV Directors Cut: Extreme Edition, to give it it’s full name) is a silly game, in fact it’s probably one of the silliest games you’ll ever play.  To quote the dev, It’s a ‘first person neo-burritocore pocedural roguelikelikelike rythmic taquitocrawler’, that sees you taking on the role of Gauc from the planet Sal-5A as he explores a (very) strange planet that he’s crash landed on.

Guac must fight his way up through the infinite tower shaped planet using a Burrito and a strong backhand.  You’ll Fight strange hand drawn enemies, solve puzzles, partake in odd conversations with aliens and hidden rapper girl, find swag, and generally just enjoy exploring the truly bizarre planet.

Somebody has been communicating with the Moon. Somebody that doesn’t understand what ancient forces they’re dealing with. Somebody that doesn’t realise how seriously they’ve upset the studies of the very eminent scientist and astronomer, Dr Dog. For Dog this means it’s time for some investigation, and probably a bit of a walk.

Moon is a fun little 2D platforming puzzle game that puts you in charge of Dr Dog, an adorable little character who’s a lot of fun to play.  It’s an enjoyable romp, with a nicely realized 2D retro aesthetic, full of interesting, varied puzzles and fun gameplay.
