8BitMMO is a retro-style 2D MMORPG where the world is 100% player built.  It offers Minecraft levels of cusomisation, allowing you to build a home, a castle, even a city in a persistent streaming world.  The maps are massive, with a Google Maps style interface used to browse the world.

Once you’ve started your own town, you can invite friends to stay, you’ll have mayoral privileges, with an array of management tools at your disposal.  You can take part in PvP fights or PvE battles against Congressional Lobbyist Slugs, LawyerCats, and Hipsters.  You can even become a zombie, eating other players brains and turning them into zombies too!

Little Warlock is an online trading card game with a wonderful, hand-drawn art style, and real time battles where  attacking and defending occurs simultaneously.   Battles take place across grid shaped battlefields, with minions marching across the battlefield to engage the enemy.

The game is easily accessible, but features deep gameplay mechanics, with hundreds of different cards to collect, create, upgrade and trade, which can summon creatures, construct buildings or cast unique spells.  You can play PvP against friends or PvE in adventure mode, which features various foes and boss battles.

With it’s fast paced real time battles, and hand drawn art style, the game is reminiscent of Plants Vs Zombies, but with much deeper gameplay, online capabilities and trading card mechanics.

We’ll be giving 50 Beta Keys to the first 50 re-blogs.  Re-blog then contact us through the ‘ask a question’ link and we’ll send you a Key.

The White Mask Experiment is an interactive experience delivered in the form of a First Person game.  It explores shape, colour, and the user’s ability to traverse masked out pathways and objects to reach their goal, using only small balls that can be rolled in front of you to mark the way.  It’s inspired by “First Person Walker” games such as Proteus and Dear Esther, but reminds us most of The Unfinished Swan on PS3.

It’s a pleasantly disorienting experience trying to traverse the masked out areas in The White Mask Experiment, and it’s a joy to explore the visually striking world that artist Sean Mcllroy has created.

Midgard Saga is an isometric turn based tactical RPG with radial movement. Based loosely on Norse mythology, players control a group of four vikings on their quest for the ultimate pillage as they climb from the mortal realm, Midgard, to the realm of the gods, Asgard.

It’s a fun game, with enjoyable turn based mechanics, that make the game feel exciting and fast paced.  There’s a nice selection of tactics and the radial movement allows for a more free flowing game than other, grid based games. It’s like a streamlined, fast paced XCOM, with a Torchlight-esque art style.

Effing Dead is a 3rd person adventure horror game that’s set in a water storage station on a distant planet, currently on Steam Greenlight

The game is heavily influenced by Resident Evil 4, but also brings plenty of it’s own ideas to the party.  You control a defence clone (drone), and have to investigate why the communication signal with earth has been interrupted.  Obviously this isn’t as easy as walking in there and flicking a switch though!

You’ll have to contend with a variety of different enemies, obstacles and puzzles on your journey, all the while, managing both your health and your connection to the clone.

Flare is a great looking isometric action RPG with similarities to the early Diablo games.  The game uses a custom built engine, that helps make the game look and feel like an old school action RPG game, but with a modern day sheen and improved game mechanics.

Disco Dodgeball is a ridiculous multiplayer FPS where you race around a skate park dance club and hit each other with exploding dodgeballs, that’s currently on Steam Greenlight.

It’s a fast paced game, set in multi-level futuristic, Tron-like neon arenas that runs on PC, Mac, and Oculus Rift.  The game features a host of game modes such as Deathmatch, Score Battle, Elimination, Hoops, Kill The Carrier and Derby.  It’’s great fun to play, and satisfying as throwing a perfectly timed shot across the arena and watching your friend get blasted to smitherines.

alpha-beta-gamer:

Infinity Wars should feel familiar to all trading card game players, but also has a host of innovative ideas and improvements to the genre.

The game features a 3D transformable battlefield, remote turn-based multiplayer, simultaneous gameplay, fully animated decks, deck merging and weekly updates (new quests, levels and cards).  As most digital trading card games have oversimplified and gone mainstream with their game mechanics, Infinity Wars has done the opposite and increased strategic depth, while still maintaining accessibility for new players.

The game had a very successful Kickstarter campaign and will be coming to Steam at the end of November.  It’s currently in Closed Beta, with a host of new features being added all the time, planned additions in the next few months include Drafting, The Academy (assistance to newcomers), and a new set of cards called Infestation.
