Brick Inventions is an impressive physics based sandbox toybox in which you have a large variety of different blocks to build whatever you like, including bridges, walls, towers and fortresses, all of which can be destroyed completely.

Although it may have some graphical similarities, Brick Inventions this is not anything like Minecraft.  It’s more like a supercharged Jenga/Lego hybrid where every single block has it’s own physics and any structure can be destroyed with a well placed shot.  This is fun in single-player mode, where you’re tasked with building or destroying targets, but it’s the multiplayer which is the most impressive - with players tasked with defending their crown by building structures while also building weaponry to bring down their opponents.

There are also a fun sandbox mode, where you can build everything you want, without limits.  As well as a useful Inventor Mode, which allows you to build complex structures and inventions which can then be imported easily into single and multiplayer games.

Brick Inventions is still early in development, but it’s already great fun and a wonderful physics based toy box for building, creating and (especially) destroying.

Uncanny Valley is a creepy nightmarish pixel art survival horror game with action and puzzle elements that features intense moments of dread and real consequences for your actions.

You play as a night shift security guard a strange research facility, who has problems with insomnia, often lapsing into a dream-like states while on the job, making the player constantly question what’s real.  As you explore the research facility, you’ll soon discover all is not well.  You’ll have to run, hide, use your wits and solve puzzles to live through this well crafted nightmare.

The consequence system of Uncanny Valley is a particular highlight, which draws some comparisons to Heavy Rain.  You can die at some points but they’re few and far between, for the most part whenever you fail at something, the game will carry on, but with real consequences for your character.  For example, if you fail to escape your attackers, your character will move slower for the rest of the game, making things that much harder.

The Alpha Demo packs more suspense, dread and ‘oh shit!’ moments into it’s 10 minute playtime that most games horror games manage in 8 hours.  With it’s tense atmosphere, beautiful pixel art, intriguing story and real consequences for your actions, Uncanny Valley is shaping up to be uncannily good.

Memory Of A Broken Dimension is a heavily atmospheric first person puzzle game with psychological horror undertones that sees you a exploring a fragmented world sector hanging within a frozen data stream within an emulator in an abandoned research station.

Memory Of A Broken Dimension is a truly unique experience.  Once you’ve typed 3 commands into the malfunctioning terminal, you access a haunting glitchy first person cyberspace, with a smothering static that feels almost suffocating at times.  Within this 3D cyberspace you’ll solve obscure location based puzzles that reward exploration and experimentation.

The tense atmosphere of the cyberspace in Memeory Of A Broken Dimension isn’t a very pleasant place to be, but it’s strangely captivating and beautiful in it’s own way.  The game is currently on Greenlight, and the devs plan to make lots of upgrades and improvements to the game (the latest gameplay footage looks fantastic), we can’t wait to explore more of this mysterious glitchspace.

Avenging Angel is a very pretty single-player first person action adventure game set in a steampunk version of planet Earth, aproximatley 10 thousand years from now.

You play an Associate of the Inventors Guild, dropped to an island on the Atlantic Ocean on a routine maintenance job. As you venture through the island, it becomes clear that all is not right on this strange island.  The steampunk setting of Avenging Angel is excellent, full of decaying steam powered equipment and some rather cool looking robotic enemies.

Although there is weaponry to be used in Avenging Angel (the Pre-Alpha Demo features duel wielding flintlocks and a Katana), it’s by no means just a first person shooter.  It’s more of a first person puzzle adventure with some shooty bits thrown into the mix (including a run in with a very cool looking mechanical spider).  In the Pre-Alpha Demo these puzzles are fairly easy to solve, but as it’s a large open world that you’re exploring, you may have to know where to look (hint: check out the house on your right first).

Dark Amber Softworks have created a beautiful world, full of mystery and wonder.  A full playthrough of the Avenging Angel Pre-Alpha demo will take less than 20 minutes, and once it’s finished you’ll dying for more.

Wickland is an old school arena FPS heavily inspired by classic 90′s shooters like Heretic and Hexen, which allows you to morph into deadly beasts and frag your foe with unique attacks.

In Wickland the goal is very simple – kill your opponent.  Players start as human characters with the ability to morph into other beast characters that are scattered around the map. The beasts are unique, which means that once a beast has been taken by a player, it will not respawn until the beast has been killed.  Other types of items are also available and placed strategically around the map (potions, armour, etc.) to aid your battle.

This is no namby pamby CoD-likeWickland a proper old school arena shooter, but with wall running, modern visuals and a very cool beast morphing mechanic.  A mighty morphing retro shooter.

A Rite from the Stars is a 3D Point & Click adventure set in a beautiful yet dangerous land, where you play a mute boy who has to master 3 trials (and a final one) in order to become a man and a legend.

Your character (Kirm) will have to demonstrate that he is braver, smarter and quicker than he seems.  Each of the 3 trials in A Rite From The Stars has a different play-style.  ’Wisdom’ behaves the most like a normal point & click adventure, ‘courage’ allows you to call on your spirit animal in order to overcome dangers, while ‘spirit’ (our favourite) allows you to enter a the spirit world where you’ll be able to commune with some very odd things.

A Rite To The Stars is shaping up to be a weird and wonderful Point & Click adventure with plenty of variety and inventive puzzle design that promises no pixel hunts, pointless walks or inventories.  Did I mention your spirit animal is a meerkat and that in the spirit world you meet a giant musical talking donut?
