Soulbound is an action-adventure game in which you play as the Beastmaster, who roams the city of Caladan catching, taming and fighting monsters, using their skills and weaknesses to your advantage.  It’s no Pokemon clone though!  You roam the world from a top-down Diablo-style camera angle, with your selection of monsters tethered to you, battling against enemies in real time.

The game’s still early in development, but it’s a great idea, it’s real-time Pokemon with a pinch of Diablo

Air Knight is an excellent side scrolling arcade shooter that really takes advantage of it’s wonderful voxel based graphics.  Unfortunatley it has already been cancelled, and all that is left of it is an Alpha build.

The Alpha build plays really well, has Xbox 360 controller support, a catchy retro soundtrack, power-ups and the ability to blow up any terrain or enemies into a tiny voxels.

It’s a real shame the game has been cancelled as the levels in the Alpha build are great fun to play, and it’s great fun smashing everything into a spray of voxels.  Air Knight still has a Greenlight page though, so if the game gets enough interest maybe the dev (RetroSouls) will think about restarting the project.  It’s worth visiting the RetroSouls website anyway, as they have lots of great free retro styled games that did reach completion.

Interference is a very cool cyberpunk/tech-noir stealthy puzzle Metroidvania platformer that draws favourable compariusons to Flashback, Mark of the Ninja and Gunpoint. Set in a place where citizens’ rights have been replaced by totalitarianism, oppression, and a robotic police force, your character joins up with a cyberterrorist group called the ‘interferers’ to find out whats really going on in the city.

Your character cannot kill, so stealth and skill are required to navigate the world. You also have the power to manipulate your enviroment, moving sections around to aid your passage and avoid discovery, it’s a great mechanic that really adds interesting puzzle elements to the gameplay.

Interference is a great slice of 2D neon noir, with similarities to Flashback, but with some great new ideas of it’s own.

GodSpace Galactic 2 (the sequel to 2013s original) is a God simulation/sandbox game, where you use your god-like powers to create your own solar system.

You can mess with asteroids, comets, planets, stars, and even black holes, using your many God powers to push, pull, create orbits, fire nukes, shoot lasers, resize objects, and much more.  You can ever create life on planets, watching the lifeforms evolve into space faring civilizations, or just wipe out them out by throwing the planet into a Black hole.

There’s even online multiplayer, allowing you to team up and create a solar system together, or just go to war with each other.

Ultimately GG2 is about choices, you’re given the keys to the solar system and allowed to do whatever you like with it, you are a God after all!

Hyphen is a great example of a simple, unique idea, expertly done, making for a fantastically fun and highly addictive experience.

The idea is simple, you control a constantly rotating neon line (or Hyphen) and you’re tasked with guiding it through a host of devilishly tricky levels. The levels are expertly crafted, with some obstacles seeming impossible at first, but rest assured, there’s a way to guide your Hyphen though every level and there’s great satisfaction to be had in beating its devious designs.

Hyphen is great fun and very addictive, It’s also the best use of a line as a playable character since Pong!

Hungry Hubert is a fast paced action platformer where you have to kill all the enemies by vomiting on them and eat the level so you won’t starve to death.   Vomiting on enemies makes your hunger bar increase, so you have to literally chew the scenery to satisfy your hunger.

The game features charming monochrome retro visuals, a nice sense of humour, tricky but precise platforming and big boss battles.  Hungry Hubert is great fun to play, it’s a monochrome Super Meat Boy with projectile vomiting, we just wish it was available on gameboy!

Catlateral Damage is a first person mischievous cat simulator, where your objective is to knock as many of your loving owners belongings onto the floor within a 2 minute time limit.

It’s a fun little game, and there’s a lot of satisfaction to be had from knocking things over and making a mess (That’s probably why cats do it in the first place).  The dev plans to add more levels (rooms) to destroy, but at the Alpha gives you free reign to destroy your owners bedroom for 2 mins.  On your marks… get set… destroy!!

We’d like to thank everyone who has re-blogged this post.  You’ve all managed to get Catlateral Damage to the top of the indieDB charts and get it recognised by all the major gaming sites.

If you’d like to see this game on Steam, you can vote for it on Greenlight now!

The dev (Chris Chung) has now put the game on Steam Greenlight and is planning to add more levels, more items to destroy, new gameplay modes (including stealth mode), better graphics, sfx and music, achievements and Occulus Rift support!

Thanks again for all the support, you’re all awesome!  :)

Bosses Forever 2.Bro is a bigger and badder version of the original Bosses forever game, featuring twice the amount of Bros as it’s predecessor.

You’re tasked with climbing an infinite tower filled with randomly generated boss fights, upgrading your Bro between fights.  Bosses learn from your actions, getting harder the better you play and have a large variety of weaponry at their disposal.  It’s a nice slice of arcade action and is great fun in local co-op.  It also deserves kudos for the cheesy pun in it’s title!

Path of Shadows is a great looking, 3rd person cell shaded stealthy assassin game with supernatural overtones, inspired by TenchuMetal Gear SolidDishonored and Mark of the Ninja.

You take control of an assassin who has been given a second chance at life by a mysterious goddess.  She brings you back from the dead and grants you the ability to manipulate shadows to your advantage, allowing you to do such things as teleport between shadows, hide bodies and use (X-ray) Shadow vision to locate and stalk enemies.

It’s still in the prototype stages, but already the cell shaded graphics look beautiful and the stealth based gameplay is remarkably solid.  Like any great stealth game, you’re very fragile if exposed, but when you’re stalking an enemy in the shadows you’re deadly.
