Invertium is a dark sci-fi platformer with physics-based mechanics that immerses you in a world of challenging gravity, motion and time puzzles.

In this beautifully animated puzzle/platformer you have the ability to control gravitystop time andslow physical forces.  These powers are used to solve a variety of physics based puzzles that require logic and fast reaction speeds.  The ability to alter gravity through four axis is particularly fun, allowing you to walk up walls or ’fall’ up to the top of a building.

It’s a very clever and well crafted game that challenges your brain as much as your reflexes.

Apsis is a beautiful game where you guide a flock of birds through a world where earth, sky and stars are woven together.

You’ll start off with one bird and slowly gather your flock, picking up stray birds along the way.  It won’t be plain sailing as sharp rocks, high winds, and predators all threaten to scatter your flock into the wind, but the beautiful acoustic soundtrack and strong hand painted visuals will soothe your woes.

There are no guns, no violence, no time limits, just awe and wonder in a beautifully crafted, hand painted world.  It promises to be a truly unique experience and one that may prove that birds are not just for novelty throwaway casual games.

Zpocalypse: Survival is an isometric sandbox rogue-lite strategic survival game based on the popular Zpocalypse board games where you manage a group of survivors in a post-nuclear zombie apocalypse.  Zpocalypse: Survival features 3D procedurally generated worlds, Rogue-lite elements, an XCOM-Style permadeath system, Day/Night cycles and base building, management and defence.

Character movement is controlled through a Diablo-Style point & click system, your job is to help a group of survivors attempt to eke out an existence and build a place for themselves in a brutal world.  They need to scavenge for supplies and food, find and fortify a shelter, recruit other survivors to their cause, craft the gear they need to continue on, defend their people, and attempt to grow and expand, facing challenges every step of the way.

The games developers have taken inspiration from the likes of FTL, Project Zomboid, Fallout, Diablo, XCom: Enemy Unknown and Endless Space.  These influences are clearly noticeable when playing the game and gel together with the themes of the Zpocalpse board games to make for a thoroughly enjoyable post-apocalyptic strategic survival experience.

SightLine is an adventure puzzle game which uses line of sight as a core gameplay mechanic, with items and scenery dramatically changing when you’re not looking.  An all-knowing narrator helps guide you through the disorientating, somewhat creepy game, with visual trickery reminiscent of that seen in Antichamber.

There is a Prototype and a Playground available to download, the playground is a small test arena, while the Prototype has more intricate puzzle elements and takes you through a variety of destinations, such as a floating mountain town, a forest or just nothingness.  One thing is prevalent throughout both builds though, whether you’re in a dangerous situation or not, it can all change depending on where you look and your perspective of it.

SightLine is a thoroughly disorientating, perplexing, wonderful experience that full of surprises and clever touches.  Also, if you’re lucky enough to have an Oculus Rift it’s a must-play (though it’s still works well on a normal screen).

Tom vs The Armies of Hell is humorous top-down isometric action adventure game with a that plays like a mix of Ratchet & Clank and Bastion.  It has some minor puzzles and light RPG elements but mainly you will be fighting things and advancing the genuinely funny storyline.

In AOH you play as Tom, a computer programmer whose office is plunged into the depth of Hell, with a left arm that was replaced by a demonic one when you were saved by a demonic imp.  As well as looking cool, this arm allows you to change from your into a large demonic monster for short periods of time when you collect power-upscapable of killing enemies with a single hit.

The Alpha Demo gives you access to the whole first level (bar the massive end boss), with a huge variety of weapons to pick up and dispatch the demonic hordes with.  It’s a thoroughly enjoyable romp, with a colourful cartoony graphical style, lots of weaponry and a wry sense of humour.

RATS is a charming cartoon-styled stealth game where the goal is to use stealth and speed to break into bank vaults and escape the level before the timer runs out.

You play as a sneaky rat burgler, trying to avoid the prowling cat guards throughout the levels.  If one catches you it’s not game over, instead you’ll just lose some time on the level timer, you don’t want to get caught too many times though as every second counts in this game - once that counter reaches zero you’re busted.  This ever-present time limit forces you to play the game differently to regular stealth games.  Rather than wait until you’re sure the coast is clear you’re more likely to take chances - making for a more exciting arcade experience than your average stealth-em-up.

RATS is still early in development, and will have a lot more features added to it upon final release such as a choice of playable characters with special abilities, upgrades, tools, a hideout and pigs.  It’s a little similar to Monaco, in that it’s a cross between Gauntlet and Pac-Man with a hint of Roguelike elements, but this seems a little less hectic and more speed orientated.

NeonXSZ is a great procedurally generated space combat game we covered back in February that has just received a major update.  It’s inspired by Descent and Quake, with RPG elements such as loot and levelling.  Gameplay is fast paced and fun, with ships remarkably agile and handling similarly to Descent, while combat feels more like Quake.  You start off with fairly weak fire-power, but as you upgrade your ship, you’ll become a force to be reckoned with.

The customisation and upgrade system in NeonXSZ is particularly impressive, with dozens of ships to choose from and over 700 Upgrades available through loot drops and trading, you’ll be able to make your ship truly unique.  It also offers a massive amount of re-playability thanks to the world, upgrades and enemy AI all being completely procedurally generated.

Among the new features of the new update is a mysterious sphere in the centre of the game world which hosts numerous Challenge Arenas.  These are like mini-dungeons, each different and each with very specific scripted events to challenge the player in return for great loot if they can beat them. As you level up new arenas appear so that there is always something new to see, do and strive for.  There are also plenty of upgrades and tweaks that just make everything better, including guidance for beginners, rebalanced weapons, and an updated GUI.

NeonXSZ is an excellent slice of space combat, that takes the Descent formula and adds so much more.   It’s already been Greenlit on Steam and is due for release through early access this summer.

You can purchase the Alpha now (Win, Linux & Mac)

.

We also have 20 Full Alpha Keys for NeonXSZ to give away. We’ll be giving them out through the ABG Website

Infectonator: Survivors is a Randomized Permadeath Survival Simulator that combines RTS, Tower Defense, Roguelike, and Management-Simulation gameplay.  Your goal is to lead a group of survivors in a struggle to stay alive and find rescue in a zombie apocalyptic world.  You must scavenge resources, build defenses, and find a way to survive in a game where death is permanent and levels are randomly generated.

The game features wonderful pixel art graphics, randomly generated cities and an XCOM-style permadeath system.  You start out with 4 survivors, one equipped with a melee weapon and the others equipped with handguns.  You then have to position your survivors  to best defend themselves against waves of zombies, while also trying to scavenge resources and cash from nearby receptacles which can be used to fortify your defences with turrets.

Infectornator: Survivors is a wonderful mix of a variety of genres, with Zombie survival, RTS, Tower Defence and Roguleike elements mashed together and encased in a wonderful pixel art exterior.  Surviving a zombie apocalypse shouldn’t be this fun.
