Fable Legends is a 5 player asymmetric multiplayer game coming to Xbox One, similar to Evolve, where 4 players work together to defeat one all powerful villain.

Based on the Fable series, and in production by Lionhead Studios, you’ll return once again to the land of Albion.  You can play the whole game in single player if you wish, with three computer controlled allies, or co-operatively with 3 friends, with the ability to switch easily between single player and multiplayer whenever you decide.  During a quest, you can elect to battle a human villain or an AI villain.

Fable has always presented opportunities for mischief and villainy, and in Fable Legends you’re able to play the bad guy as never before.  The Villain player takes control of the many creatures, minions, traps, and environmental hazards that Heroes must overcome.  When those Heroes enter an area, you’ll choose which minions are sent into battle and where to place these creatures to maximize their effectiveness.  Once the fight begins, you issue the orders for your creatures to execute: telling them where to go, which Hero to attack, and what abilities to use to ensure your evil plans come to fruition.

If the trailer is anything to go by it’s going to be a very good looking game, with fun combat and a nice selection of creatures to beat up/command.  The 5 player multiplayer is particularly exciting, playing the hero looks like fun, but playing as a villainous dungeon master sounds wicked.

War Thunder has just started it’s Open Beta for Ground Forces – a tank based expansion for it’s hugely popular aerial combal MMO.

At the moment, tanks can’t fight in the same battles as planes (although during the testing period it will be possible occasionally) as the developers are keen to not fully integrate the two until they’re 100% happy with it.  However, if you’re dying for some land to air combat, you can always access it through the ‘custom battle’ options.

Tanks are a welcome addition to the world of War Thunder.  Although they can’t fly, they’re a bit slow and they’re rubbish at doing barrel rolls, they’ve got some kick-ass weaponry and they’re great fun to drive.  Also, as you can see from the in-game footage above, it looks fantastic, full of explosions and carnage.  War Thunder is free-to-play war sim just got better – Tanks for nothing.

Proven lands is a vast procedurally generated science-fiction sandbox roguelike with en emphasis on exploration, inspired by Star Trek, Don’t Starve, Project Zomboid and Cataclysm.

This isn’t just another sandbox survival game, here there is an emphasis on exploration and storytelling.  The story of Proven Lands unfolds in two distinct ways, one is a scripted story about friendship, bravery and even a pregnancy, while the other is generated by an AI game-master that reacts to the player, weaving a unique game-playing experience for each playthrough.  Both or these options sound fantastic, though for a pure sandbox experience, the player will have the option to turn the scripted storyline off.

The planets of Proven Lands look wonderful, a lot of work has gone in to making it them feel like a real alien landscape, with diverse creatures living in their own ecosystems.  As you traverse the landscape, you’ll encounter weather effects, natural disasters, a variety of topographies, enemies and AI companions (including a cat in it’s very own cat spacesuit).  You’ll also build, craft, use vehicles, create outposts, progress your chosen character type, choose alliances and travel to other planets, it goes without saying that it’s a pretty ambitious game.

The Pre-Alpha is a very early build, so obviously is nowhere near fully featured.  You can eat, drink, chop trees, destroy stones and kill enemies, fight hunger, thirst and diseases, all in an endless procedurally generated terrain.   Although pretty basic at the moment, the Pre-Alpha does give you a basic overall feel of the game, and a sense that the finished product could be something very special.  The Greenlight and Kickstarter campaigns have just started so make sure you check them out.

Bosses Forever 2.Bro is a bigger and badder version of the original Bosses forever game, featuring twice the amount of Bros as it’s predecessor.

You’re tasked with climbing an infinite tower filled with randomly generated boss fights, upgrading your Bro between fights.  Bosses learn from your actions, getting harder the better you play and have a large variety of weaponry at their disposal.  It’s a nice slice of arcade action and is great fun in local co-op.  It also deserves kudos for the cheesy pun in it’s title!
