Planet Quest a fast paced rhythm action game with vibrant visuals and an endless supply of levels coming to iOS.

You play an alien who must tap in time to the music to abduct cute dancing animals as the planet spins around in front of you like a turntable.  Planet Quest runs on its own custom game engine, that incorporates a sample based music tracker. This tracker allows the game to build songs and levels on the fly with zero lag - allowing for unlimited music/levels.  The vector based graphics compliment the music wonderfully, making for a game that’s full of color and energy.

The current Beta test is for iOS, but Planet Quest will also be coming to Android in the future.  It’s a fun and cheerful rhythm action game, with funky tunes, vibrant visuals and tons of replayability.  Addictive rhythm action animal abduction.

Flicker is a fast paced audio-enhanced action puzzle game where you have to avoid previous versions of yourself as you make your way to the goal.

The fantastic audio is an essential part of Flicker, so it’s highly recommended playing with headphones.  Your goal in each stage is simply to travel across the screen and reach the goal. What makes things tougher is that each time you complete a stage, it creates a ‘copy’ of yourself which you have to avoid, that moves along the same path as you did last time. Things start of easily, but the difficulty soon ramps up, with multiple copies of yourself and other enemies to avoid.

Flicker is still early in development, but it’s shaping up to be a great game – a stylish action puzzler where you to play against yourself in a pixellated light-show full of cool synth beats.

Staying Together is a simple premise, expertly done – a charming multi-character puzzle platformer that takes you on a journey through a couple’s relationship, and sees you playing co-operatively with yourself.

You control both characters (a boy and a girl) simultaneously, using the same controls but with each character moving in the opposite direction (so press ‘A’ and the boy will move left, but the girl will move right).  The boy and the girl start at different points on a level, then must work out a way of uniting at the finish point.

Things start off fairly easy, but the difficulty level soon ramps up thanks to some fiendishly clever level design.  It’s worth pointing out that no matter how many times you die it’s unlikely that you’ll get stressed out, thanks mainly to the wonderfully relaxing soundtrack that instantly soothes any frustrations, and the short levels that keep you coming back for one more go.

Controlling multiple characters with opposite controls has been seen before, but never executed quite as well as in Staying Together.  The wonderful visual style, chilled out musical score and intelligent level design makes for an addictive puzzle platformer that leaves you with a warm feeling inside.

T.I.M.E.S. is a very cool CryEngine 3 Powered first person shooter set within a Hunger Games/Running Man-Style reality show, where you play a lone gladiator sent back in time to fight entire armies from another era.

You’re massively outnumbered, but being from the future, you have a nice selection of futuristic weaponry and gadgets to aid your progress, including a nifty robotic attack dog.  Your aim is to defeat the enemy army be breaking their morale, you can do this by killing, incapacitating and scaring them, with the loss of high priority targets such as generals having the largest influence on morale.

The T.I.M.E.S. Prototype sets you loose in feudal Japan, with you battling against an army of samurai and soldiers.  While it’s pretty obvious that the AI has a few flaws at the moment, they can still be deadly when alerted.  The CryEngine 3 rendered feudal Japan looks very nice, though we did notice some issues with textures and frame-rate - but this is to be expected from a prototype.

Although there are some rough edges at the moment, T.I.M.E.S. really does show a lot of promise and the reality show theme fits well (especially when you see ‘tweets’ from viewers and previous combatants).  With a few more time zones, gadgets and a little more polish, T.I.M.E.S. could be a real blast in the past.

alpha-beta-gamer:

Chaos Heroes Online is a good looking new MOBA based on a variant of the original DOTA mod for Warcraft III.

It’s yet another MOBA in a market reaching saturation point, and doesn’t do an awful lot to distinguish itself from all the other MOBAs out there, but it does have some merits.  It comes with a nice selection of heroes, some rather flamboyant special moves, shiny visuals, destructible terrain and the ability to gear up your character without having to return to base.

It may not be terribly original, but Chaos Heroes Online does look like a fun new way to experience those well trodden MOBA lanes.

Bloodborne is the new game by From Software, makers of Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls - fantastic games which beat you to a pulp while you thanked them for it.  Bloodborne looks set to continue this tradition, utilising the power of the new consoles to great effect, making for a far more visceral and blood filled experience.

Bloodborne will be a Action RPG with stunningly detailed gothic environments and challenging gameplay.  Early gameplay footage shows off co-op multiplayer, fantastic character design, large mobs of enemies and faster, more flowing combat than we’ve seen in the Souls games.   The combat still promises to be deeply strategic though - you’ll need your wits around you to survive in Bloodborne.

Much like the Souls games, Bloodborne looks set to kick your ass, but at least this time you can say you were distracted by how pretty it is!

Infinity Wars is a good looking Trading Card game that takes full advantage of the digital platform, utilising simultaneous turns, beautifully animated card art and animated battlefields which are affected by player cards.

There are already over 300 cards, with new additions on a regular basis to keep the gameplay fresh, and you’re also able to trade cards with other players.  There are also over 100 quests to complete, and there’s even a strange (but cool) crossover that allows you to use cards based on Star Trek: The Next Generation!

It’s a good looking game, with the transformable battlefield and wide selection of cards offering some deeply strategic and fun gameplay.  There’s also an added incentive to collect the cards when they look so cool in all their animated glory – set phasers to stunning!

The Detail is a crime noir adventure set in a modern American city that combines the emotional impact of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead crossed with the themes of a realistic crime drama like HBO's The Wire.

Gameplay is centred around a bitter veteran detective investigating a brutal gangland murder and a reformed criminal trying to protect his family, the player is forced to make tough choices and deal with the resulting consequences of these moral dilemmas.

The graphic novel visual style is wonderful - creating a stylish and gritty city for you to explore, full of interesting characters.  The Detail also promises multiple branching storylines affected by your decisions and multiple playable characters - allowing you to experience both sides of the law.

The Telltale Games' The Walking Dead gamesinfluence is obvious in the Beta Demo, but it also shares a lot of DNA with Heavy Rainoffering up a dark storyline where everything you do has a consequence - whether it’s snap judgements made in the heat of the action or more considered investigative decisions.

The Detail is shaping up to be a wonderful blend of mature storylines, point & click gameplay, gritty crime drama, graphic novel noir style and real decisions.  Well worth checking out.
