Gladiators of the Arena is an rpg hack ‘n’ slash game where you play as a slave gladiator fighting for survival in Arenas across the territory of Roman Empire to win your freedom.

The game focuses on Slave mode and Citzien mode: In slave mode you fight to survive and get your freedom. After that Citzien mode becomes open and you become professional gladiator. It allows you to buy a house in a city or go hunting to the forest. In custom fight you fight in chosen game mode such as : Team deathmatch, Survival or Free for all and others.

It’s a particularly brutal game, and there’s a fair bit of enjoyment to be had from lopping off limbs and decapitating opponents. There’s a variety of weapons and customisation options, the combat feels nice and weighty, and the Colosseums look great. It’s still early in development, so there’s still a lot of work to be done, but it’s already enjoyable, brutal fun.

Interplanetary is a turn-based strategy artillery game set in space, where players wage wars by developing their home planets and firing their interplanetary barrages through the planetary system.

You’ll build your planets infrastructure, gather resources, research technologies, spy on enemies and build weapons as in other strategy games.

The big difference comes in the turn-based combat mechanics. All the weapons in game are artillery (railguns, missile & beam), which are aimed and fired from your home planets and can be affected by gravitational pulls of planets and suns. It’s a great mechanic, that is underused in modern video games, and can allow for some deeply strategic and satisfying gameplay.

Trove is an open-ended adventure where you can explore, craft and create your way through fully buildable/destructible persistent Voxel based worlds.

Exciting new worlds are generated on a regular basis, supporting free-form exploration that makes going through a mountain as rewarding as going over it, and enables community contributions to significantly impact the game.

As well as world building, Trove also features RPG elements, with Loot, monsters, resources and unlimited dungeon variations. You can even build your own fully customisable trans-dimensional home that persists across worlds and servers.

It’s shaping up to be a beautiful looking Voxel based game that blends Minecraft style world building with deeper RPG mechanics.

Oozengard is a survival adventure game with a wonderful retro art style and a great sense of humour that’s currently on Steam Greenlight.

The story revolves around the invsasion of your city by some mysterious ooze, that starts to consume any living creature in its path, turning it into a clone which only lives to haunt the living. To survive against the invading ooze, you’ll fight ooze infected enemies, explore the city, scavenge items & weapons, save citizens, create a safehouse, discover secrets and escape the city.

It’s a whole lot of fun to play, and plays a bit like a 2D DayZ in a retro 16Bit version of Springfield.

Cloudface is a hand-animated 2D platformer with graphics and humor inspired by Earthworm Jim & Warioland. You control a cheerful business-cloud on a quest to save his important documents. Use weather-based powerups to manipulate enemy abilities & traverse weird and beautiful 2D levels.

It’s a fun game, and the hand drawn animation add a lot of character and joy to the proceedings. It’s the sort kind of game that you can’t help but smile while you’re playing. It’s still early in development, but it’s looking great already. The devs plan to add more zones, more boss fights and Laser Ducks!

Samphi is a story driven RPG set in a randomly generated, destructible sandbox universe currently on Steam Greenlight. The game does have a few similarities to other sandbox games, such as Terraria, but it also has a heavy focus on storyline and RPG features such as skill sets, pets and mastering your environment. You can play it as a pure sandbox game if you like, through free-play mode, but the story is definitely worth checking out.

The story is about a relationship between boy and girl, with you re-living memories along the timeline of their relationship you learn their story. It’s a refreshing change for a sandbox game to have a real, meaningful story, and it really adds to the gameplay.

Yargis is a top down space shooter, in a similar vein as geometry wars, but with slightly slower paced, more tactical gameplay and more advanced physics models, that’s currently on Steam Greenlight.

The game features a large array of customisation options for your ship, allowing you to make it truly unique. There’s also a level editor, entertaining multiplayer modes, unlockable upgrades, and an interesting story.

Yargis has had a successful Kickstarter campaign, and is currently on Steam Greenlight. You can download the Alpha for free, or purchase immediate Beta access from their homepage.

Pixel Piracy is a side-scrolling 2d, RTS sandbox roguelike pirate simulation game that’s currently on Steam Greenlight. The player must sail their ship over a number of procedurally generated sea zones, battling pirates and other hostile forces, recruiting and disciplining crew members, and upgrading their ship. Combat takes place in pausable real time, and if the ship is destroyed or the crew lost, the game ends, requiring the player to restart.

It’s a great game, with a beautifully animated pixel art style and a nice sense of humor. It’s a whole lot of fun attacking enemy ships with projectiles, then boarding and looting them. Forget Assassins Creed 4, Pixel Piracy is where the real gold is.

Fight enemy spaceships and aliens, collect items and resources, upgrade equipment, take part in randomly generated quests and search for powerful artefacts.
Approaching Infinity already has a host of interesting gameplay features, but the dev (@IBOL17) is planning to implement a host of other features, including 5 different endgames, 12 intelligent alien races with their own quests, achievements, more monsters, more ships, more quests, maoremof everything basically! The dev is also very keen to hear any suggestions you may have for the game and would love to hear your feedback. Approaching Infinity is planned to start a Kickstarter campaign on 11/11/2013.

Kromaia is a fast paced 3D Arcade shooter that which takes action, speed, agility and immersion to a new level. Insane enemy patterns, impressive swarms, giant god-like guardians, ancient temples, contraptions, treasures, visual ecstasy… All in a vast and unexplored universe only ruled by physic laws.

The game is a joy to play, with fast paced, twitch gameplay thats enhanced by the rapid manuverability of your ship. The world that you explore is visually stunning, with their neon, grid based almost TRON-like style. If REZ was taken off it’s rails, given another shot of adrenaline, and mixed with a pinch of and Geomety Wars, it would be this game. Highly recomended.
