Dungeon Defenders 2 is the sequel to the popular original cooperative action RPG/tower defense game, but this time around with more unique characters, more varied items, tower defense turrets and traps (more of everything basically).

The biggest change from the original is that Dungeon Defenders 2 is a free-to-play game, but don’t worry it’s not pay to win (it’s just skins you purchase) and it also also opens the door for more support and content updates. Dungeon defending just got a whole lot better…

ELOA (or Elite Lord of Alliance) is an Anime-inspired isometric hack n’ slash MMORPG with fast, fluid combat and a vibrant open world filled with quests and dungeon raids.

Players can choose between five character classes and four different races then gear up for open world exploration, PvP combat and dungeon raids unlocking new loot, costumes and pets as you go. The combat is where ELOA comes into its own though with each character able to switch between three combat stances, weapons and skill-sets mid-fight, making for fast, flowing and tactical battles. An MMORPG that allows for spectacle-filled hack n’ slash combat without sacrificing depth.

Black Desert Online is a hotly anticipated action high fantasy action MMORPG with Assassins Creed-style parkour, highly detailed character creation and exciting combat with manual targeting, dodging and combos.

Black Desert Online has been available in Korea for a while now, but it’s taking a ridiculously long time to come to the rest of the world. Thankfully the wait is almost over, as the Russian Open Beta has recently been announced, and there will be no region restrictions, meaning anyone in the world can register and play.

We’d highly recommend checking it out - even if you’re not a fan of MMO’s, take one look at the trailer and you’ll be a fan of Black Desert Online.

Underhero is a fun pixel art action-RPG that turns the tables on conventional RPG’s (and games in general) within the first five minutes, with the hero meeting his untimely demise and you controlling an evil minion that rises up to take his place. It’s a fun twist that makes a refreshing gaming experience that raises a smile, and allows you to freely wander around the overlords castle, exploring and talking to other minions (you’ve even got your own room there!).

Gameplay in Underhero is split between metroidvania-style exploration and RPG-style duels in which you choose which attacks and defensive moves your character will perform. It’s a little tricky to pull off parry at the moment, but on the whole it’s a fun system reminiscent of the Paper Mario games.

With it’s charming character design, vibrant game world and great sense of humor, Underhero is shaping up to be a marvellous minion metroidvania RPG. Remember, you’re not bad, you’re just drawn that way!

Tiny Mighty is a new MMORPG that we’re amazed has got past Marvel’s lawyers, with it’s adorable (but surely copyright infringing) versions of the comic book giants super heroes.

The characters in Tiny Mighty do have slightly different names from the Marvel originals, so you end up with characters called ‘Rabid Racoon’, ‘Black Spider’, ‘The Hunk’, ‘Human Fire’, ‘Magnet Man’ and ‘The Archer’ among many the others. These humorous spins on the original characters do raise a smile, but sadly that’s all there is to enjoy in this rather lacklustre MMORPG. Aside from the characters (which aren’t really theirs anyway), Tiny Mighty offers some rather mundane gameplay.

It’s free to play and playable in a browser, with no download necessary, so you might want to check it out just for the characters, but the gameplay won’t keep you coming back for more. A mighty shame.

Ready for more pain? Dark Souls 3 Closed Beta test incoming!

Dark Souls 3 is already looking fantastic, with gorgeous current gen visuals, and a slightly faster combat style, taking some cues from Bloodborne (but shields will definitely be present).

The Dark Souls 3 Beta test is on PS4 only, but will be available worldwide, so sign up if you’re brave enough to test From Software’s latest masochistic masterpiece!

Featuring procedurally generated worlds, X-Com-style character permadeath, 9 player characters, 36 combat companions, 80+ enemies, 100+ beautiful hand drawn locations and an epic story with multiple endings. It’s An impressive seafaring adventure with plenty of depth.
