8BitMMO is a retro-style 2D MMORPG where the world is 100% player built. It offers Minecraft levels of cusomisation, allowing you to build a home, a castle, even a city in a persistent streaming world. The maps are massive, with a Google Maps style interface used to browse the world.

Once you’ve started your own town, you can invite friends to stay, you’ll have mayoral privileges, with an array of management tools at your disposal. You can take part in PvP fights or PvE battles against Congressional Lobbyist Slugs, LawyerCats, and Hipsters. You can even become a zombie, eating other players brains and turning them into zombies too!

Midgard Saga is an isometric turn based tactical RPG with radial movement. Based loosely on Norse mythology, players control a group of four vikings on their quest for the ultimate pillage as they climb from the mortal realm, Midgard, to the realm of the gods, Asgard.

It’s a fun game, with enjoyable turn based mechanics, that make the game feel exciting and fast paced. There’s a nice selection of tactics and the radial movement allows for a more free flowing game than other, grid based games. It’s like a streamlined, fast paced XCOM, with a Torchlight-esque art style.

The lost Titans an impressive MMORPG, using full-3d browser gaming technology to render its many stunning environments and deliver fast paced and fun game-play.

The game features an epic story based on real-world mythology, co-op, PvP, epic boss battles, plenty of loot, fully customisable characters & loadouts and the ability to ride creatures such as giant scorpions and dragons. Throughout the Beta, there will also be game events and item giveaways.

Pokémon World Online is essentially a fan made Pokémon MMO that allows you to join up with friends, catch and train Pokémon and battle against online opponents. It retains the great retro visual style of the original Pokémon games and is constantly evolving to incorporate more of the lore and land of it’s source material. A lot of fun, and 100% free to play, so if you fancy some Pokémonline action, check it out.

HeroesGo is a F2P action MMORPG developed by ESTsoft with a fusion of classic dungeon-crawling adventure paired with action-packed combat. It’s got the visual style and epic story of classic JRPGs like Final Fantasy, but faster paced, Zelda-style action combat.

Bigger, better and harder than ever, Dark Souls is back to kick your ass for the ridiculously short time of 3 hours. PS3 Dark Souls 2 open Beta tests will take part On the 26th/27th of October, first thing in the morning in Europe and in the middle of the night in the US. Trust Dark Souls to even make Beta testing as hard as possible!
Namco Bandai claim that this Beta will contain ”an entirely new area of the game“ that will allow players to "delve into one of the most treacherous areas of the Dark Souls 2 world”.

UPDATE: Unfortunately there were problems for the North American Beta Test, Namco Bandai have apologised and confirmed that there will be another one. Everyone that downloaded the client will get into the next Beta test. No date has been released yet, but we’ll keep you updated when we know more at Alpha Beta Gamer

Naruto Saga is a team combat MMORPG which brings a fresh set of gameplay experiences into the world of the fabled Naruto anime series by combining tactical one-on-one battle systems with quick time events (QTEs) and team selection.

Players fight for supremacy with three characters using turn-based combat. Each character has four active skills and two passive skills, which must be used wisely in order to win. Meet characters from the Naruto series and recruit them to your cause and take on quests inspired by popular Naruto storylines.

The Closed Beta begins today (October 23rd) and will run for six days until October 29th.
