South Park VR allows you to roam the streets of South Park in first person, either with a standard monitor of with an Oculus Rift headset for the fully immersive experience.

The town has a layout that will be familiar to anyone who has played The Stick of Truth, and all the South Park residents roam the streets ready with a quick sound-bite (Terrance & Phillip are a particular highlight) when you get near.  While South Park VR isn’t really a game per se (you can’t really interact with anything), it’s fun to roam the streets spotting the various residents, landmarks and in-jokes.

Staying true to South Park’s ethos, the animation is suitably shoddy, with the 2D characters on a 3D background working well to create an authentic version of the Colorado mountain town.  As far as Rift support goes, it’s probably a waste of cutting edge technology, but it’ll certainly make you smile if you’re a fan of South Park.  The in-jokes and sound-bites are what make South Park VR worthwhile, we won’t spoil it for you but MAKE SURE YOU GO INSIDE THE CHURCH!

Radial G: Racing Revolved is essentially an extremely fast first person F-Zero, set on tubular tracks, with high-end graphics and Oculus Rift Support -  a high-octane, futuristic arcade racer for the VR generation.

Would be Captain Falcon’s will be able to strap themselves into the cockpit of a large selection of futuristic antigravity racers and race against 32 opponents (Human & AI controlled), all in glorious 1080p at 60fps.  The feeling of speed is fantastic as you roar along the twisty, tubular tracks, recalling fond memories of F-Zero 64 and F-Zero GX.  There is the option to switch to an extrenal view of the vehicle, but first person mode is where the action is.

You can play the Single player Alpha Demo now (a multiplayer demo is in the works), either with a standard screen or with the Oculus Rift headset.  Be warned though, the rift version may melt your eyes!

SightLine is an adventure puzzle game which uses line of sight as a core gameplay mechanic, with items and scenery dramatically changing when you’re not looking.  An all-knowing narrator helps guide you through the disorientating, somewhat creepy game, with visual trickery reminiscent of that seen in Antichamber.

There is a Prototype and a Playground available to download, the playground is a small test arena, while the Prototype has more intricate puzzle elements and takes you through a variety of destinations, such as a floating mountain town, a forest or just nothingness.  One thing is prevalent throughout both builds though, whether you’re in a dangerous situation or not, it can all change depending on where you look and your perspective of it.

SightLine is a thoroughly disorientating, perplexing, wonderful experience that full of surprises and clever touches.  Also, if you’re lucky enough to have an Oculus Rift it’s a must-play (though it’s still works well on a normal screen).

Time Rifters is a very clever single-player first person shooter co-op game where ‘time rifts’ allow you to be your own team mates.  Each time you play through a level, all of your actions are recorded and reproduced for the next playthrough, even the weapon upgrades.  You can do this 4 times, allowing you to play as 4 independent time clones, working together (with yourself) to complete the levels.  It’s a fantastic premise and works really well once you’ve wrapped your head around the concept.

The game also looks fantastic, with it’s minimalistic futuristic world and voxel based enemies that can be destroyed piece by piece.  It’s also available on Oculus Rift, for a completely immersive experience.

Time Rifters is based on a truly unique idea which shouldn’t work and somehow does, very well in fact.  It’s a single player co-op FPS - a damn good one too and it certainly gives a new meaning to 'playing with yourself’.

Spirited Away – The Boiler Room is a fun little Oculus Rift tech demo that allows users to step into one of the most iconic scenes in Spirited Away.  Old Kamaji is there, with all 6 of his arms hard at work, as well as lots of little Susuwataribusy carrying coal to the boiler.  Although you can’t interact with anything, it’s a wonderful experience just stepping into the perfectly recreated boiler room, and just the sort of thing that Oculus Rift is made for.
