What first hits you about Pankapu: The Dreamkeeper is that the animation and artwork is fantastic – with a lush, vibrant game world fondly reminiscent of Rayman Legends and a wide selection of unique characters and enemies. The gameplay is fun too, with you able to switch between costumes and fighting styles with a button press, changing from a nimble archer to a powerful melee-focused warrior in an instant.

The whole game is a projection of a childs mind as he is being told a bedtime story by his father. This creates some interesting layers of narration, as you follow the adventures of Pankapu, and can also read between the lines to discover the tragic story of the child and why he is having nightmares.

With it’s lush visuals, traditional action platforming gameplay and innovative storytelling techniques, Pankapu: The Dreamkeeper really impresses. A fun action platformer that looks and plays like a dream.

Memoranda is a gorgeous point-and-click adventure that draws inspiration from the short stories of Japanese contemporary writer Haruki Murakami.

The game’s sound design and music expertly compliment its visual styling, creating tension where required and hinting at a world that extends on beyond the onscreen illustrations.

Kingdoms of GridWorld is a unique tile-popping turn-based strategy game set on a game board that alters dramatically throughout the match, with tiles sliding around and disappearing as the game progresses, until you’re left with a handful of squares filled with lots of units.

The Nullpoint is a cool blend of real time strategy, survival horror, roguelike and Diablo-esque dungeon crawling set across procedurally generated levels in which you must guide your crew members to safety after being stranded in a mysterious alien structure.

You control up to five crew using an intuitive control scheme similar to those found in an RTS. You’ll have to use caution when exploring the spacecraft, there are no reloads - if all your survivors die, you’ll restart from the beginning in a new procedurally generated ship interior. Much like X-Com, this makes every battle a tense affair - one silly mistake can cost you a crew member, or even worse, the whole team. The Nullpoint is real-time action though, not turn based, so you’ll have to think fast as swarms of aliens charge at you!

TOP SECRET is an intriguing blend of fact and fiction inspired by the Edward Snowden NSA leaks, played in real-time via e-mail, you must hunt down the mole who’s leaking top secret intel to the press.

Played over the course of several days, e-mails are timed, depending on whether the sender is busy, disinterested, cautious, impatient, angry, or excited. You investigate the journalists involved in the Snowden leaks, cracking their encryption systems and uncovering real messages sent by Edward Snowden at the time.

It’s an intriguing concept and playing the game through your personal email account is a a stroke of genius as it really does make events seem far more realistic (although, hopefully you won’t have to flee the country!)

Indivisible is a beautiful side scrolling 2D action adventure RPG from the developers of Skullgirls, with gorgeous artwork and gameplay inspired by classics like Valkyrie Profile and Super Metroid.

Indivisible impresses with its fun 2D side-scrolling platforming and exciting Valkyrie Profile-esque team-based turn-based(-ish) combat system. It features a fantastic soundtrack from legendary Japanese composer Hiroki Kikuta (Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3), and of course, being from the Skullgirls devs, the animation is superb. A super slick side-scrolling adventure.
