Storium is an online storytelling game that allows players to create a story through a series of scenes, reacting to obstacles and people as you come across them.  It’s played with 3 people, with one person playing as the Narrator, and the other 2 playing as the characters.

The Narrator chooses the world that the story is set in (with choices such as ‘occult pop horror’, ‘medical drama’ and ‘cyberpunk’), then starts each scene, using cards to give the players challenges to overcome.  The players will then try to overcome these challenges as they see fit, progressing the story  in fun and interesting ways.

There are a few more rules, but it’s remarkably easy to pick up and is only limited by your imagination.  Storium is a fun and fluid way of storytelling, with players reacting to each other and no-one being fully in control, it can lead to some VERY interesting stories.

Our attempt was an occult pop horror called ‘The Badgers of Doom’, they’re black, they’re white, and they bite!  Coming soon to cinemas near you!

Classroom Aquatic is a ridiculous game where you take on the roll of a foreign exchange student in a school of dolphins.

Unfortunately for you, your class is doing a test, which you’re you’ve got no chance of passing unaided as you don’t know any of the answers.  This means if you you’re going to pass the test you’re going to have to use stealth and sneaky distractions to sneak a peak at the other students answers.  You’ll have to be careful though, as you really don’t want to get caught.  Getting told off in first person, by your dolphin teacher is a strange and rather terrifying experience!

Classroom aquatic is a great game that takes a simple, unique idea and runs (or swims if you prefer) with it.  It’s a wonderfully fresh take on the stealth genre.  You’ll never look at dolphins in the same way after you’ve been told off by one.

FInal 12 hours of the Kickstarter!  With $25500 already pledged, classroom aquatic only needs another $4500 to complete it’s goal of abusing cheaters with angry dolphin teachers!

Steel Waves is a fun new naval combat game that sees you commanding a selection of customisable battleships and fighting in 16 Vs 16 online battles.

At the moment it’s a basic, but enjoyable online multiplayer combat game, however the devs have an intention of evolving it into a fully featured MMO, with a choice of 3 factions and a larger selection of gameplay modes.

Obviously the the Alpha demo is lacking some features at the moment, but the combat is great fun, reminiscent of Assassins Creeds Naval battles but with fancy modern warships and less pirates.

Lift is a fun new flight sandbox game based on real world physics, where you can build whatever aircraft you like, from a spaceship to a flying whale, and take it for a spin.

The game is still very early in development, so building the aircraft isn’t especially intuitive at the moment and would benefit from an easier to use drag-and-drop style interface.  However, once you get the hang of it, it’s great fun building and testing your aircraft.  As all the parts you put together are bound by real world physics, most of your creations will be uncontrollable abominations that smash into the ground.  That’s where the fun lies in Lift though, it’s great fun messing about with your creations,  tweaking your design until it resembles something that can actually fly, then smashing it into a wall.

Creations can then be published and shared with others across the world, allowing you to test some truly weird and wonderful creations.  There’s a test course you can fly through, with markers for you to aim for, obstacles to avoid and missiles (as if it wasn’t hard enough!), that you’ll need a decent aircraft and deft throttle control to navigate.

Lift still has plenty of rough edges, but it really shows great promise, it’s a fun toybox that allows you to build, fly and smash, definitely one to keep an eye on in the future.

Roche Fusion is a fast paced, fun arcade shoot-em-up with snazzy special effects, lots of over the top weaponry and big boss battles.

It plays wonderfully.  Battles take place on a single screen, with enemies swooping in for wave based attacks, making the game feel like Space Invaders on steroids at times.  The power-ups also deserve a special mention, they’re well designed and pretty spectacular, particularly the Black Hole Gun that shoots a big black hole that sucks enemies in to their demise.

Cadence is a great new audio/visual puzzle game where your goal is to join up musical nodes in such a way that they create an infinite loop, capable of perpetually continuing the melody into infinity.  This may sound overly complicated, but in reality it’s remarkably easy to pick up and play, with multiple solutions to puzzles and lots of fun to be had from experimentation.

The audio/visual style of the game is also excellent, combined with the lack of a timer, it makes for a very relaxed, Zen-like atmosphere.  You’re never to worried if you get things wrong as it’s great fun trying different solutions, it’s a highly enjoyable, chilled-out experimental puzzler.
