Alpha Beta Gamer

Zwan feels more like a experience than a game, you navigate a decaying world and discover the works of the artist Hieronymus Bosch hidden in it. The game feels similar to Proteus, in that the joy is in exploring the beautifully realised audio and visual world.

The main idea is to give life to Bosch’s paintings, while enacting a metaphor of pain and madness. If you colide with certain obsticles, you’ll inflict more pain on yourself, and the world will slowly become more dangerous and wicked, until eventually you reach Hell. It’s a beautiful experience, with an excellent soundtrack, well worth checking out.

Super Mega Man 3 is an excellent fan made Mega Man game, lovingly made by Negative1. It’s faithful to the old classic Mega Man games and retains all the wonderful 8-bit art style.

Prestige is a charming wizard academy simulation with a similar art style and design to the KairoSoft games (Game Dev Story, Hot Springs Story, etc.). You are the Headmaster of your own wizard academy. Research different spells, train your students to use them, then send them out to take part in classic RPG battles to gain more rewards.

CDF Ghostship is a first person & third person survival horror sci-fi shooter. It’s a fun and scary free roaming FPS with nasty aliens and beefy weapons, inspired by Doom, System shock, Dead Space and Natural Selection. It’s a fun game, and it’s great exploring the open world, discovering aliens, then blowing them away with a variety of weapons.

Iubes is a fun mix of real-time strategy game and god-game with some minecraft-esque aesthetics.

You don’t have direct control of your iubes, instead you decide what has to be built, then the iubes do whatever they think they have to. You must manage your time and iubes to build your city, defend it, make soldiers, and destroy your enemy.

It’s an interesting game with a wonderful art style and some great ideas.

We covered Amygdala while it was in Alpha, you control a disembodied head, shooting enemies, pooping bricks and killing wizards to make a magic meat body in this fun and entertaining platformer.

Amygdala is now in Beta and the devs are looking for Beta testers to help fine tune their game. Beta testers will receive access to regular build updates, a full DRM free copy of the game upon release on Android and PC, and DLC/expansions for free.

In Viscera Cleanup Detail you’re a janitor who is tasked with cleaning up a facility after after a brutal and bloody battle which saw a lone hero (not you, you’re a space janitor remember) thwarting an alien invasion. It is your duty to get this place cleaned up.

The facility is how you’d imagine somewhere in Dead Space or Half Life to look after the game’s finished and the hero’s gone home and left his mess to be cleaned up by someone else. So grab your mop and bucket and get started. Clean blood stains, pick up spent cartridges, and incinerate alien body parts in the greatest FPM (First Person Mopper) game you’ll ever play!

Boring Man is a fun online 2D Stickman shooter with over 20 brutal weapons currently on Steam Greenlight. Jump off walls and ride skateboards as you try and get the drop on the enemy.

It’s a fast paced, hectic game with lovely OTT violence that draws inspiration from Soldat, TF2, and Quake. It’s got a nice selection of gameplay modes, including Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Climb and Zombrains. The only thing we’re not sure about is the title, Boring Man is a lot of things, but it’s definitely not boring!
