Bard’s Gold - a super tough reto 2D retro arcade platformer with RPG elements, that plays a little like Spellunky, but with boss fights and less murderous shopkeepers!

Be very careful as you make your way through the levels - you only have 3 lives and one hit is enough to kill you.  Thankfully there is some assistance from a shopkeeper, who’ll sell you useful weaponry and armor if you’ve collected enough gems.

With deadly enemies and nasty traps, Bard’s Gold feels a bit like Spellunky, but without the procedurally generated level design – which is actually a welcome omission as it gives players slightly better odds of surviving as you learn where all the sneaky traps are.

With tough gameplay, charming pixel art visuals and a very catchy soundtrack, Bard’s Gold is a thoroughly enjoyable retro platforming romp that will punish you for your mistakes, but also allow you to learn from them.

Break_In - Fortify your defenses and break into other players safe houses in this unique Safe House Building/Robbing FPS.

Playing a little like The Castle Doctrine, but in first person and with more guns, you start out with a tiny shack of a safe house, a pistol and a good bit of cash.  You must then upgrade your safe house, buy weapons and attempt to break into other players houses to ‘relieve’ them of their cash.

Still in the prototype stages, Break_In does have some rough edges, but it shows a great deal of promise, and the dev plans to hugely expand on the premise, with online co-op, single-player missions, plenty more upgrades and a wide range of safe houses to purchase and rob.

We cant wait to see more of this strategic first person burglarizer – just stay away from the ABG safe house or we’ll unleash the hounds!

Drone GP 15 - a challenging and chaotic new game which brings the up and coming sport of drone racing to home computers.

Best played with a 360 controller, Drone GP 15 is a fun new take on the racing genre.  The realistically designed drones handle unlike anything you’ve raced before (unless you’ve actually raced drones), making for a remarkably tricky game that’s hard to master and fun to play.

Proto Raider - This wonderful ASCII romp is possibly the most retro platformer ever created.

It’s a challenging puzzle platformer where every single-screen level is a mini-quest for you to conquer.  You play the whole game using just the spacebar, allowing you to jump, swim, surf, fly and fight as you constantly walk forward. You must plot your path and time your actions perfectly to avoid the myriad of nasty ways for you to die including being burnt to ashes, drowned, poisoned, stabbed, annihilated or turned to stone.

With so many ways to die, and so few ways to succeed, Proto Raider is a tough game.  Each level is a puzzle that has to be solved, timing jumps to direct your character to plot a safe route to the exit.  It’s a challenging and surprisingly complex retro platformer - a VERY retro platformer.

Crawlers - A build and destroy multiplayer spider-mech smackdown.

Customise your mechs then pit them against other players and fill the air with lead and flames in chaotic multiplayer battles.  Customising your load out is easy - just drag and drop a wide array of weaponry and gadgets, with players able to focus on agility, armor or all-out-firepower.

The devs are planning to add lots of new features, weaponry and gadgets, but even in these early stages the build and destroy nature of Crawlers is very satisfying.  A six-legged smackdown full of chaotic crawly carnage.

Albert and Otto - a beautiful Limbo-esque puzzle platformer, which at first appears to be about a boy and his magic red bunny on a quest to save his love, but ultimately turns out to be a whole lot darker.

You’re not defenseless in Albert and Otto, and you’re probably not as innocent as you seem either. To aid your quest you have a gun and a little red toy bunny with telekinetic powers. This bunny comes in handy for a variety of things, from activating switches to firing burning sheep at a tree (sheep get a pretty raw deal in Albert & Otto).

With it’s stark white world and dark as night storyline, Albert and Otto is a beautifully sinister puzzle platformer that’s destined for great things.

Cloudbase Prime - a wickedly funny and joyously joyful FPS/Platformer that just gets more and more amazing with each new build.

Full of lush greenery, stunning vistas, bizarre enemies, vibrant colors, exciting gameplay and wonderful writing – it’s a place that you can’t help but enjoy exploring.  Especially with the unique ability to manipulate the environment to propel you (or enemies) high into the air.

To coincide with the start of the games Greenlight campaign, developer Tyrus Peace has released a new build with a ton of new improvements – including big and small walker robots, a rail system, holographic platforms, a visual upgrade, an improved soundtrack and a gigantic ATAT-style walker.  Also, there’s more dialogue for your wonderfully written robotic AI, which provides some real laugh-out-loud moments.

We’ll certainly be on cloud 9 if this gets Greenlit.

SoulHunt - is a fun ‘Hide ‘n Seek’ multiplayer game where you don’t hide behind objects, you hide inside them – you really can be anything from a table to a turd.

Inspired by the prop hunt mods, teams are divided into hiders and seekers, with the hiders able to hide inside ANYTHING, but the seekers capable of hearing their heartbeat.  It’s still very early in development, but the core gameplay is solid and the devs have great plans to expand on it massively.

Whether you’re clown, a table, a coffee cup, a turd or a banana – you’ve never played a game of hide and seek quite like this!
