Epic Random is a cool Doom-style retro FPS, set in an infinite random corridor, in which you collect random power-ups and blast randomly generated enemies.

Featuring fast, fun and challenging retro FPS action, you travel down the infinite corridor, fighting enemies and filling up your ‘random bar’.  As you travel down this corridor killing enemies, it changes, adding more color and undulation.  There are a variety of power-ups to collect as you traverse the corridor, all random, and all with their own effects.  Once you’ve blasted enough enemies and filled your random bar, a huge boss will appear behind you, requiring some tactical shooting as you aim for it’s weak spots.

With it’s embracement of all things random, Epic Random is a hoot - a retro roguelike corridor shooter with fun old school combat and entirely random playthroughs.

Dirty Bomb has now entered Open Beta on Steam!  We first covered the Closed Beta back in January, but now everyone’s able to enjoy the fast paced team-based FPS from Splash Damage (Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, Brink and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars).

Set in a post-apocalyptic London, Splash Damage vowed to take first person shooters back to their roots with Dirty Bomb, with a game that “won’t hold your hand, in fact it is more likely to kick your teeth in”.  They’ve stuck to their word too, boldly shunning controller support and any form of aim assist, making for a fun team centric shooter that rewards skill and punishes complacency.  Fancy testing your mettle?  Join the Dirty Bomb Squad!

Ground Branch is an impressive true tactical first/third person shooter in which the devs are aiming to achieve every possible realistic action from studying real life special operators - from how they handle their guns, to their movements, and tactical strategies.

Based on the real life subsection of the Special Activities Division of the CIA, the Special Activities Division carries our deniable ops and is usually on the scene before any other military special forces.  Ground Breach is very much on the simulation end of the FPS spectrum, with deliberate, cerebral and gritty gameplay.

The devs plan to re-introduce the meaning of death into the FPS genre (something which games like CoD have desensitised us to), with real impact to your actions.  Also, multiplayer firefights won’t feature any form of artificial balancing - good teamwork, careful choices and real skill are the only ways to win in Ground Branch.

It’s been a while since we had a truly great tactical shooter, but Ground Branch is looking very promising indeed.  It’s still very early in development, but it already impresses with it’s excellent visuals and authentic approach to warfare.
