After School is a short and beautiful little adventure with artwork created entirely from paper, pencils and watercolours, that tells a tale of unrequited love as a young girl yearns for the object of her affections to just look up from his book and notice her.

Sure the girl may come across as a borderline stalker, but all she really wants is for her true love to notice that she exists – a fact that hits hard in the game’s poignant ending scene.

Infinite Adventures is an impressive new D&D inspired dungeon crawling RPG with first person exploration in a similar vein as Legend of Grimrock and Dungeon Master, and anime-style artwork, deep turn based tactical gameplay and a blend of scripted and procedurally generated dungeon design (which do indeed allow for infinite adventures).

Indivisible is a beautiful side scrolling 2D action adventure RPG from the developers of Skullgirls, with gorgeous artwork and gameplay inspired by classics like Valkyrie Profile and Super Metroid.

Indivisible impresses with its fun 2D side-scrolling platforming and exciting Valkyrie Profile-esque team-based turn-based(-ish) combat system.  It features a fantastic soundtrack from legendary Japanese composer Hiroki Kikuta (Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3), and of course, being from the Skullgirls devs, the animation is superb.  A super slick side-scrolling adventure.

Slutty ugly step sisters, bad translation, a king and his son who are clearly of different races, bizarre humor and jiggly boob physics make Cinderella Escape! the most mind bogglingly weird take on the classic fairytale yet.

The gameplay is pretty basic at the moment, but it does show promise with it’s maze based puzzles.  It’s the strange plot and character design choices that are the most memorable thing about Cinderella Escape! though.

Still early in development, it’s not a great game at the moment, but it’s certainly an (unintentionally) funny and memorable one.  It’s like Cinderella was in a horrific car crash with a lorry-load of Anime - the mangled mess that results isn’t exactly good, but you can’t seem to take your eyes off it.

Street Fighter V Beta sign ups are now open on PS4!  During an eventful and surprising (Shenmue 3!!!) E3 presentation, Sony showed off Capcom’s brand new fighter coming to PS4 and PC in 2016, with PS4 Beta testers able to get their hands on it next month.

The Street Fighter V E3 trailer really impresses with gorgeous visuals and fluid gameplay – Ryu and co. really have never looked so good.  Six characters have been confirmed so far – the recently announced Cammy and Birdie join Ryu, M. Bison, Nash and Chun Li – but Capcom will no doubt roll out a steady trickle of additions to the roster over the coming months.

Street Fighter V will be coming to PC too and will have a Beta some time this Fall, but you’ll have to pre-order the game on Steam for the privilege.  It’s a fair bet that Super, Ultra and Super-Dooper iterations will be rolled out over the years to come, but as it stands Street Fighter V is poised to be the undefeated champion of the current generation of fighters.  Can you sign up for the Beta?  Shoryu-can!

One Piece is a great looking MMORPG based on the popular Anime series of the same name, that see’s you recruiting other members and battling enemies in fast paced tower defense-esque battles.

Graphically One Piece really impresses, capturing the style of the Manga series perfectly with great animation and artwork.  You choose between three different character types, then set out to do battle across the One Piece universe, with plenty of well known characters and locations for fans of the series.

Battles are a blend of traditional action RPG combat and tower defense, with you attempting to kill enemies before they reach your base.  Obviously things get tougher later on, but at least in the early stages of the game the auto-quest function (which you can turn off), does all the hard work for you, travelling between quests, and even fighting your battles if you let it.  As you progress, you’ll level up, gain new abilities and unlock new companions for your troupe.

Hardcore MMO fans may not find much to excite them here, as a lot of the mechanics are a little generic, but if you’re in the market for an Anime based MMO, you could do a lot worse than One Piece, with great artwork, a novel twist on the combat and plenty of fan service for followers of the series.
