Weldling is a fun non-profit 2.5D physics toy-box that allows users to easily weld objects together to build a multitude of structures and even create their own mini games.

Welding plans to be 100% free to play, with no DRM, micro-transactions or adverts, while still providing hordes of content and post release DLC at no cost.  The game is planned to come to PC/Mac/Linux & mobile, and features a simple and easily accessible interface that works well with a mouse and touch screen.  Touch screen is where the real joy will be though, as the tactile nature of the game makes it feel like a you’re playing with a physical toy-box.

The Pre-Alpha is obviously still very early in development, but it offers a great showcase of the games build-and-play nature and it’s realistic physics engine.  It’s great fun messing around with the various building blocks, the elasticity of the welds is a great touch - allowing you to create fun non-rigid structures that can be used in a variety of ways.  The tools available are fairly simple at the moment, but the dev plans to add multi-player, NPC Animals, multiple layers, time manipulation, animal breeding and a variety of new tools including one which allows you to create your own shapes.

With it’s ease of use and toy-box feel, Weldling is an impressive sandbox that revels in the joy of creation - like Lego, but with bendy bits and you don’t have to clear up afterwards!

Quintet lets you and up to 4 other players pilot your own Star Trek-Style Space craft through space, with each player taking on different roles – from a Captain Kirk to a Scotty.

With gameplay split into 5 roles – Captain, Helm, Tactical, Engineering and Science. How successful you are will depend on how well you all work together.  Communication is key, and although you don’t have to sit in a swivel chair and command ‘warp speed Mr Sulu’ or ‘fire the torpedoes’, it certainly adds to the experience.

There are multiple types of ships for 1 to 5 players, so solitary pilots can still go where no man has gone before with no need for a crew.  All of the different ships can play with (or against) each other in the same missions/scenarios.

The amount of cross-platform compatibility is particularly impressive, as Windows, Mac, Linux, Web Browser and Tablet/Mobile users can all play together.  The Beta is available at any time, but every Monday at 7pm EST they also host Massive Battle Mondays – an event that gathers together crews for a mighty big scrap.  More power to the shields and set Phasers to kill!

World Zombination is a fun real time strategy game that tasks you with taking over the world with your zombie horde or helping the human faction survive the zombie apocalypse.

The zombie hordes are certainly that, with hundreds of zombies swarming the screen hell-bent on feasting on the survivors.  As well as sheer numbers, the zombie faction has a range of different zombies such as runners, spitters and brutes at their disposal to accomplish world zombination.

The humans may not have numbers but they’ve got brains (braaaains).  With a selection of units such as snipers, medics and brawlers, they use tactical positioning and superior firepower to fight back the waves of undead.

As well as masses of zombies, World Zombination has a wonderful cartoony art style, a great sense of humor and some clever character design.  Swarms of zombies look fantastic as they charge across the screen, especially if they’re the one in charge of them!

The Beta works on iPad 2 and iPhone 5 or newer at the moment, but there are plans for Android, Mac & PC versions.

Apsis is a beautiful game where you guide a flock of birds through a world where earth, sky and stars are woven together.

You’ll start off with one bird and slowly gather your flock, picking up stray birds along the way.  It won’t be plain sailing as sharp rocks, high winds, and predators all threaten to scatter your flock into the wind, but the beautiful acoustic soundtrack and strong hand painted visuals will soothe your woes.

There are no guns, no violence, no time limits, just awe and wonder in a beautifully crafted, hand painted world.  It promises to be a truly unique experience and one that may prove that birds are not just for novelty throwaway casual games.

Rubble N Strafe is an addictive side-scrolling helicopter game with some wonderful pixel art and fast paced arcade gameplay inspired by Harrier Attack.

After you’ve chosen your helicopter (Rubble or Strafe), you set forth into a 2D procedurally generated pixellated battlezone, blowing up things to an excellent soundtrack reminiscent of John Carpenter scores.  As in the old classic Chopper (NOT Flapppy bird - this is definitely NOT a Flappy Bird clone), you constantly travel forward, using the left mouse button to fly higher, while the right muse button drops bombs.

You then machine gun, bomb and rocket your way through an infinite horde of enemy troops, completing missions, blowing up buildings, terrain, aircraft and boats, all the while collecting ammo and fuel so you don’t run out.  Complete missions and keep your chopper in the air for as long as possible and you’ll earn a place on the online leader board.

It's an addictive, action packed piece of retro arcade action, full of destruction and pixellated carnage.

Rakete is a chaotic little game, similar to Lunar Lander, where the aim is to take off from point A and land on point B.  Sounds easy?  What about doing it with five thrusters, controlled by 5 different keys?  Still to easy?  How about doing it with 5 different players, each one controlling a separate thruster?  Houston, we have a problem!

Rakete is great fun in single player, and is still pretty tricky using the keyboard to coordinate your thrusters, but multiplayer is where the real fun is.  5 players can all connect to the game using the brass monkey app for iOS or Android devices, then each player can control an individual thruster.  What follows is usually a chaotic disaster, with the ship cartwheeling and smashing into the ground, along with lots of shouting and plenty of fun.  In this game, many hands don’t make light work, they pick it up smash it into the ground.

Sky Battles is a fun arcade-style dogfighting game with nice looking visuals, fun gameplay and online multiplayer.  The single player campaign looks pretty spectacular, pitting you against massive lumbering enemies, while the multiplayer is great for a quick fix of aerial combat.  Sky Battles is in development for iOS and Android, but you can play the multi-player Alpha in a Unity supported Browser now.

Pilotlight is a fun retro touch/mouse based platformer that tasks you with racing through levels as fast as you can, destroying fuel containers on your way.  It’s a tricky, but fun game, with the touch/mouse based controls working surprisingly well.  The levels are well designed and challenging, reminiscent of Super Meat Boy, but touch based and sporting some nice particle effects.
