Factorio is a very cool sim game in which you build and maintain huge factories, starting off small but eventually spanning entire maps.

You mine resources, research technologies, build infrastructure, automate production and fight enemies.  You use your imagination to design your factory, combine simple elements into complex structures, use management skills to keep it working and protect it from the creatures who don’t really like you.

Turning the unspoilt wilderness into a sprawling industrial complex is a surprisingly satisfying experience, like Sim City for industrialists.  The way all your factories move is fantastic, with all the mechanical parts moving in unison, with one purpose - turning raw materials into product.  This may be Greenpeace’s worst nightmare, but it’s shaping up to be an excellent game!

Rampage Knights is a chaotic cooperative beat ‘em up with randomized dungeon crawling, exploration, customisation, lots of weaponry, magic powers and loot.

You play as a hero trapped by a spell in a magical forest where all paths lead to a nearby ruined castle - the source of the black magic covering the land.

Rampage Knights features randomised roguelite gameplay inspired by The Binding of Isaac mixed with classic melee combat from games like Golden Axe.  Each run lasts around 60mins, starting with a bare hero who evolves and changes (visually and gameplay-wise) as you find better weapons, items, magic powers and fight harder and harder monsters. Eventually you reach the final boss at the bottom of the pit (or your death).

When you die, you may loose your weapons and items, but you keep your combat experience.  You're resurrected in a camp, full of travellers who you met in the woods, who offer a variety of useful customisation & gameplay options to aid your progress.

It’s a fun game, that offers old-school co-op hack n slash action, with loads of upgrades, loot and weaponry in randomly generated bite size (and bloody) chunks.

Wild Warfare is a class-and-vehicle based FPS, starring tooled up woodland creatures, from the nimble rabbit to a chain-gun wielding bear.

Gameplay bears some similarities to Team Fortress, with it’s class based FPS warfare, a great cartoony graphical style and hats.  The Alpha is fast paced, chaotic fun, with three game modes, three classes, one Armored Walker, and six hats. With a little help from Kickstarter,  the devs plan on making all of those numbers much bigger and add a little polish to the game.

It’s a vibrant and colourful FPS with a firm emphasis on fun and maiming furry creatures.  Impressively it’s just been Greenilt on Steam after just 5 days, so it looks set to offer a furrier, sillier alternative to Team Fortress 2.

Absolute Drift is a fun minimalistic isometric car drifting/gymkhana game where you hurtle around tracks (sideways whenever possible), attempting to rack up as high a score as possible.

Playing a little like an isometric version of the gymkhana sections of Dirt 3, in the Alpha Demo you have free rein of 3 freestyle levels and 2 track levels.  At the moment there are no difficulty settings or driver assistance, so unless you’re a seasoned drifter, you may struggle to pull off the perfect drift or even drive in a straight line.

With a bit of practice you’ll get the hang of the handling, and even if you don’t it’s great fun sliding about the tracks anyway, leaving your mark on the pristine tracks and smashing through obstacles.

Reliquary is a roguelike futuristic action rpg focused on exploration, survival, and dying a lot.  Stranded in a procedurally generated asteroid field riddled with derelict ships and bizarre creatures, you’ll need to survive countless perils in your search for a way home.

It’s a great game, with a fun combat system influenced by Vlambeers Nuclear Throne, challenging gameplay influenced by Spelunky and Demon’s Souls, a very cool minimalistic soundtrack, challenging gameplay, upgrades, boss fights, a wonderful pixel art graphical style and procedurally generated level design.

The Alpha demo gives you access to the whole of the first area of the game, the first boss fight and free rein of the crashed spacecraft that acts as a base of operations for your intrepid explorer.  You’ll have to clear four procedurally generated levels to reach the boss fight, which is easier said than done.

As you can imagine by the games it’s been influenced by, Reliquary is no walkover, ammo is scarce and some of the enemies can be pretty devastating.  You’ll have to fight smart if you’re going to survive this space oddity.

Epic Flail is a pixellated 2d Gladiator Brawler inspired by Japanese cartoon fights, that’s full of frenetic action, blood and decapitations.

Your fighter remarkably agile but rather fragile, he can pick up shields and armour to protect him from blows, but once the armour is gone it’s a one hit kill scenario.  Luckily, your fighters agility means you can dash around the screen, avoiding your foes and choosing your moment to strike.  Kill enough in a row, and you’ll trigger an ‘Epic Flail’ – which causes it to rain blood and gives you a mighty mace for a limited time – decimating the enemy with it’s unblockable it’s attacks.

The game is still in Alpha and the devs plan to add plenty more features, but the gameplay is already remarkably fun, with unlockable items, 3 different Arena modes to unlock, 2 player co-op and is compatible with Xbox360 and PS3 USB controllers.  It’s perfect for short bouts of arena-based pixellated brutality.

Video Hero Story is an excellent fighter management sim game where you start as a small town fighter and aim to whip him into shape, win fights and become the best of the best – a rich and famous fighting superstar.

The 80s/90s atmosphere of the game is wonderfully nostalgic and full of nice little in jokes – such as the fact that your car is the A-Team van.  The full game also promises plenty more of these little touches, like the ability to get a job as a pizza delivery man and meet the Teenage Mutant Ninja Alligators.

You not only manage how your character fights, but are also responsible for his daily life, diet, and physical training.  You can earn money through fights and jobs, buy new equipment, level up your skills and select perks.  It feels a lot like playing a Kairosoft game (Game Dev Story), but with an awesome retro vibe and a great sense of humor.

Unfortunately, at the moment, the Alpha doesn’t allow you to buy food, so when you finish what’s in your refrigerator, you’ll be unable to proceed any further.  It does give you a great taste of what Video Hero Story is all about though – retro fighting fun.
